DMG Mori AG, headquartered in Bielefeld, Germany, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of machine tools. The company was formed in 2013 from the merging of the German Gildemeister AG and the Japanese Mori Seiki Co. Ltd. 2. Grob-Werke GmbH & Co. KG
Grob-Werke GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1926 and is headquartered in Mindelheim, Bavaria. The company is known for its highly developed production systems and machine tools, which are used worldwide in the automotive and aerospace industries. Grob is a family-owned company that has grown incessantly since its foundation and has earned a firm place among the leading machine manufacturers.
Grob’s most important products include 5-axis machining centres and assembly systems for engines and gearboxes. The Grob G model series, in particular the G350 and G550, are well-known machining centres that are valued for their precision and reliability.
Grob achieved a turnover of around 1.3 billion euros in 2022 and employed around 7,000 people worldwide. The company remains family-owned and places great importance on long-term relationships with its customers and sustainable production processes.
3. INDEX Werke GmbH & Co. KG
INDEX Werke GmbH & Co. KG, based in Esslingen am Neckar, is another major manufacturer of machine tools in Germany. The company was founded in 1914 and has since developed into a leading supplier of CNC lathes. INDEX Werke is known for its precision lathes, which are used in numerous industries, including the automotive and mechanical engineering sectors.
One of the companys bestknown products is the INDEX C series, a range of CNC lathes characterised by their high precision and versatility. These machines are used worldwide for the production of complex components and are known for their durability and efficency
In 2022, the INDEX plants achieved a turnover of around 600 million euros and employed around 2,000 people. The company attaches great importance to technological innovation and is constantly working to improve its machines and production processes.
